animal crackers

For our final insert of our Baby Animal Shower, I wanted to share some of the quick and easy things that we served for food and for favours. As you know we planned this in a matter of hours, so it was a case of ideas "on the go" and no serious prep.

The baby shower was held in the morning, so we opted for foods that one would typically eat for breakfast and then "dressed it up a bit":
- a variety of croissants with butter, jam, cheese and cheese spreads. We bought all the miniature versions that one often gets at restaurants to play up the "baby" and "on safari" feel.
- yoghurt cups and fresh cherries from the farm next door, we dressed up the cups with the Meri Meri cupcake liners. (Another good idea would have been not to place the cups in the cupcake liners but flip the liner over the top like a lid and tie with twine).
- my favourite foodie idea: we bought doughnuts iced exactly like zebra stripes and added little flags I made from toothpicks and the Willd Baby Printable party patterned paper.
- berry muffins topped with Meri Meri food flags
- animal crackers, fruit jelly sweets and apricot tea biscuits, and then extras were parcelled up into little cellophane bags with a Printable Party Thank You Party Circle Tag, and handed out to the ladies as "padkos".
