CHRISTMAS PROJECTS

Count down the days till Christmas in a meaningful way to celebrate the days of Advent in anticipation of Christmas and time spent with family. Last week, we shared an advent calendar in the form of a Christmas garland filled with little numbered paper packets bearing treats and trinkets.

Today, we will show you how to craft a very traditional Danish calender candle inspired like these ones from Maileg. It is a sticker on a candle just like a tape measure provided with 24 markings, to be lit every day and the childrens’ duty to blow out the candle before it burns down too far into the next date!

MATERIALS
Danish Christmas Candle Printable
A4 Sticker Paper or Glue stick
Scissors
White Pillar Candle - approximately 20cm tall.

DIRECTIONS
Print the candle printable onto white sticker paper.
Cut out and stick all around the white candle.
Place candle on a mantel piece.
For everyday of Advent, have the eldest member of the family light the candle, and then just before it burns down into the next day, have the youngest in the family blow it out.
