fun favour no. 3

Our DIY wedding favours feature continues today with what else - but chocolate! These chocolate dipped spoons are super easy to make, cost effective and very yummy indeed. What's more you can do this idea for any function or even as part of your dinner menu when you bring out the tea and coffee. And our free printable "ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE and a little chocolate now and then" is the final fancy touch (and it is editable for you to add a message).

I don't really need to give instructions, but if you would like a detailed "tutorial" here goes:

MATERIALS

Bag of chocolate chips or a bar of chocolate broken up into bits (we used Lindt)
Smarties (or any other sprinkles that you like)
Wooden Spoons (available here)
Heatproof container
Cellophane bags
Waxed paper
Thin Ribbon
Bag Topper Printable (download here)

DIRECTIONS
Pour the chips into a heatproof container, such as a measuring cup.
Microwave the cup of chips at half power for one minute. Stir. Repeat in 30 second bursts until chocolate is smooth and fully melted, but do NOT over cook.
Dip plastic spoons into the chocolate to coat the spoon.
(If the chocolate starts to harden in the bowl, microwave 30 seconds at half power.)
Lay spoons on wax paper to set, add smarties/sprinkles after 30 seconds.
When chocolate spoons have set, put them in the freezer for 15 minutes. This makes them easier to handle when you start to wrap them.
Place inside cellophane bags to wrap the coated spoons.
Tie with a pretty ribbon and/or add our free printable bag topper.
Enjoy!
