baby shower bliss
I have had this baby shower photo in my inspiration folder for a while now. There is so much I love about the table, and mostly the fact that if you look at the individual items most are able to be sourced quite easily and at reasonable prices.
CHEAP AND CHIC IDEAS:
- Buy plain white paper lanterns, and then just decorate with coloured ribbon to suit the occasion. Baby Boy Shower? Tie blue, Christmas? Bring out the red! Lanterns from R30 - R50 each. Petersham ribbon from R3 per metre.
- Fresh flowers on a budget - tightly pack carnations into white metal buckets. We have these for R5 each to hire.
- Forgo the patterned tableware and use neutral white ceramic/bamboo plates and cutlery. Bamboo cutlery R2 per utensil.
- Use linen napkins - like we just got in new stock of our ever popular linen napkins on a roll: think cream, red, sand and bubblegum pink. Cotton Napkins on a Roll R125 for 25 on a roll.
- Add little "baby" elements, repeating the same look to create the wow factor: safety pins on blank place cards (get the pins at Clicks), little ceramic blue booties (I have seen these at Flowerspot), little plastic babies (I also think I saw these at Flowerspot or try Toy Shops or even the Crazy Store may have these type of plastic trinkets) and for favours: edible dummy lollipops on a ribbon (available from Sweets from Heaven and Brittans Sweets) or almonds in a little tin.
