little lamb

Our family doesn't have "concrete" Easter traditions save for one. My mom always cooks the most amazing "Sunday Roasted Lamb Lunch". So whilst both my sister and brother are at my parents this year and will enjoy the full spread, I thought this was as good a time as any to do it myself. I had to mix things up a bit, as on Sunday we have other Eastery plans, so I opted for the big lunch yesterday and here are some of the little things that I did.

- With lamb being on the menu, I decided to incorporate it into other elements. Fortunately, the bakeries here in Switzerland take Easter very seriously and I was able to find a lamb shaped sponge cake as the "centrepiece" and little ones for dessert! The gold necklace around the lamb's neck was quite the incentive for the girls to see who would eat all their vegetables first!
- When planning a party, I can't do without a few party printables, they are just the best thing to add that little bit of detail. Without a "lamb" collection, I opted for a colour theme, and our Green Polka Dot Printable Party worked perfectly.
- The menu included a mixed salad with "Apéro Möckli" (little cheese cubes) and "Rosettes en pate feuilletée" (little rosettes of puff pastry). I got this idea of having two of these peeking out from behind the salad leaves to look like little bunny ears from One Charming Party.
- I used some green grass squares to run down the centre of my table, and these worked great as trivets for the cooked food.
- And no luncheon would be complete without some Lindt - how lucky for me they made little lamb ones!
- This Little Lamb theme got me thinking, it would be quite a cute idea for a baby shower or baptism.
