So as you know I love Martha Stewart. Well, recently she held an Peony Party. She invited guests to come and have a look at her Peony Farm and enjoy summer cocktails and canapes.
THINGS WE LOVE
- The simple idea of having guests over in a pretty garden as the venue. In this case, Martha has many to choose from, but maybe you are lucky and you or your parents have a gorgeous garden. So promise yourself to host a party there when it is in full bloom and at it's best. But even if you don't have a garden, why not look at having a get together at one of the many Botanical Gardens spread around the country.
- The colourful trays used to serve canapes with fresh ingredients straight from the garden. For a similar look take white butler style trays and add colourful patterned paper as a lining.
- The shot glasses of cold pea soup. Not a fan of soup, make a salad on a stick and pour a little bit of balsamic vinegar in the bottom. Or how about something sweet like a fruit kebab with chocolate sauce or whipped cream.
- The idea of serving simple food too: mini cocktail rolls with braaied sausage and hamburgers.
