Probably the most important element of any party is the tablescape and even more so the centrepiece. An automatic assumption are flowers, however there are many other alternatives and just as eye-pleasing. I particularly like the idea of candles in mass, especially for a modern wedding or a winter dinner party. Just remember to dim the overhead lights and have the candles low enough so as not to block guests view across the table.
