Just saw this over at Ohdeedoh - an advent calendar used to countdown to birthdays:
"Rie decided to use an advent calendar as a birthday countdown each year. Family members leave a message each day in the pocket and the little bear moves one space closer to one."
It has now given me permission to buy each of my girls one of Maileg's pixie calendars. Last year, there was no convincing my husband that we needed these "advent" calendars. However, now I have third party proof that they can be used all year round! Speaking of which I just had a sneak peek at the new Maileg pixie and other pocket advent calendars that we are going to order for the shop and trust me you are going to be using this post as your "permission slip" come December.
