I have always enjoyed this magazine and it is my mom's favourite as she is really big on knitting and crochet and they always seem to have a good pattern or two. In fact, I also think that is the only magazine that my mom actually ever really "uses" the recipes rather than just looking at the pretty pictures. it's beautiful here
Okay, I just can't wait until they arrive - I am so super excited about our NEW! supplier's goodies. I had seen them a while back but was pleasantly reminded about them on Jordan Ferney's blog last week, and I thought I HAVE to get some - afterall if anyone should be selling them it should be a South African company.
So guess what is arriving hopefully next week! Yes! It is Heath Nash's "it's beautiful here" coat racks. I have already nabbed up one for myself and my sister too (she has declared it her birthday/Christmas present from me - even though that is only in Oct/Dec) so you must be quick as I can't promise how long these will hang around for (pun intended hee hee!).
They were sold a few years ago back in Anthropologie for 400USD, so seriously this is the best deal you are ever going to get for a designer piece like this! And so versatile too - Jordan used hers in her sons' nursery, I am planning mine for my hallway and my sister is going to put hers up in her office at work. I wish I had a pool - as wouldn't it be cool to hang towels on next to the pool area. Oh happy day!

jumping on the bed
So often I buy things for the shop and in the back of mind I know they are actually for me! The only problem is I forget to set my goodies aside as soon as the boxes are opened, and if I leave it for a week or two, I come back to find they are all sold out! But not this time! I was sure to get each of my girls a new quilt for their beds.
Zara's is all bright colours from Rice Denmark and suits her bold and beautiful room perfectly! And then Bailey's room is all pretty pastels, so the Greengate Oda Quilt is just the thing. And not that they need any more cushions to crowd the beds that are already brimming over with their soft toys, but there is a matching Rice bolster and a Greengate quilted cushion.

The best bit is that I had the opportunity to try some of them last week and they are DE.LI.CIOUS! I haven't tried to make them myself, I have heard that they are quite difficult - is this true? (I got mine from Allison from www.tinybite.co.za). But check out the Bakerella site for details if you are keen to have a try.

Ons is so bly! In Good Company is vir die eereste keer in 'n Suid Afrikaanse tydskrif! Lekker ek se! (okay I can't find a "kappie" on my German keyboard but I know it belongs on the "e"). And for our overseas readers my first sentence is in Afrikaans, I haven't spoken it since my Stellenbosch days (and let me set the record straight Afrikaans does not help in a German speaking country, no matter what anyone says!).
Anyway, what I really wanted to say is we are so thrilled to be in the latest issue of Sarie, and even more so as they highlighted our Divine Twine. Not sure what a "tolletjie" is? Is that a roll? Either way you got to get some!

I think at least every second day I have this longing to be in the Cape. And I was shocked to work out the other day that it has been nearly ten years since I was there studying! And sadly, I have just another reason to get there quick - today and all weekend long is the Design Indaba.
So eventhough we couldn't physically be there we thought we would send a little bit of "goodness" their way - check out the Kids Workshop brought to you by The Pretty Blog together with Lucky No. 9 and Seven Swans - and some cute freebies from us and Nelle Cakes.

Recently a bride contacted us from overseas as she was planning her SA wedding, and was so pleased that many of her décor wish list goodies could actually be found in our shop! But if you ask Bianca what the best thing was - she would say is her newly owned herd of giraffes.
Little did she know when she asked us "Do you know where I get some of those giraffes on the side of road painted white" would we be able to suggest something even better - these stunning all white ceramic giraffes. Just the perfect touch of the African bushveld but with a bit of elegance!
Also, and I just thought of it now - these are perfect for our new Jungle Baby Shower Printable Party coming soon!

Often, I am very bad as I tend to focus on girly things and not so much boy things. Most likely, because I have two little girls, and now that Alex has a little girl too - the boys are really outnumbered. But never fear! Wishing you all a very Happy Valentine's Day!
I decided last week or so that I am not going to do anything for Valentine's Day - mainly because I have been focusing on a REALLY BIG GOOD THING. I don't want to jump the gun until all the paper work has been signed - but it will definitely be the best Valentines Day/Easter/Mothers Day/Birthday/Christmas present (as my husband has now vitoed all future gifts) ever!
So in lieu of photos of a Valentine's Day Party hosted by me, here are some lovely ones from Pottery Barn - let's pretend it was mine *wink* *wink*.
