I remember an article in Martha Stewart Weddings well, all about conversation starter ideas, but I must have read over this one because when I reread the article I was so excited about this idea as I think it is brilliant and so easy to do for any ocassion!

For the full DIY visit MS Weddings, but basically you make introductory cards as part of your place cards that reveal shared interests or personal triumphs of the person seated to the left and to the right of the guest. You could definitely make the conversation very interesting at the tables!

Another good idea is to buy a box of our ready made Wedding trivia boxes.

Last week, we introduced the idea of decorating the guest of honour's chair at your next party. We particularly love this idea spotted over at Amy Atlas Events as it showcases an idea that is inexpensive (the price of a few sheets of tissue paper) and can be customised to suit most any colour scheme.

One of the new items we like adding to our printable parties are bag toppers. It is such an easy and reasonable way to package favours for parties, as 9 out of 10 times the best favours are those that are edible. Fill cellophane bags with iced biscuits, sweets, chocolates, nuts etc. and then cut out and staple on a decorative bag topper. What could be simpler and sweeter?

Who can resist ladybugs, especially ones that are pink and chocolate brown - guaranteed to bring good luck and the perfect theme for a baby shower. This printable party has everything you need:
Invitations to fill in, pop into store bought envelopes and send off/hand out to guests.
Pennant Bunting for you to string up all over the party area: WELCOME at the door, IT'S A GIRL overhead, and then if you like ENJOY and SWEET LOVE over the food and dessert buffets.
Make a feature of the cupcakes, (display on cake stands for centrepieces) wrap around the cupcake wrappers and insert food picks.

I have to admit that the hardest part I find when planning a party is deciding on the menu (possibly because I am not a very cook/baker). I am never really quite sure what to do. So you can imagine how impressed I was with the idea of simply picking one signature dish and drink - and that is it! Like this Pancake Party from Green Wedding Shoes. Even I could pull this off!

Sometimes the simplest of ideas make all the difference: I guess that is why I favour the saying:love is in the details. I really like the idea of making a feature of the guest of honour's seat at a function. It needn't be over the top or anything, but a simple nod to the fact that this their special seat - so true in the case of brides at bridal showers and mom's to be at baby showers. So I will be sure to hunt for lots of lovely ideas for all of us, starting off with this one:
