GOODIES - Maileg Advent Pig

this little piggy...


As mentioned in our Advent Candle craft project, it is typical for Danish families to light a candle for the four advent Sundays and have it displayed in their home. This week many shops and florists have started stocking their advent candle displays, and I am pretty excited to put mine out on display in our entrance hall. 

It is a red wooden pig from Maileg, Denmark. It has four holes inside one for each candle and actually makes for a cute window shelf decoration all year round. Our shop also has other little wooden pigs that hold one candle, and one of our customers actually used the little baby pink pig for her daughter's first birthday cake topper - too cute and a lovely keepsake!
