After you have decided a date for your Dinner in White, the next thing to do is plan where you are going to pop up your party. There are a few things though you need to remember.

1. The location is outdoors. I can already here you saying, but what if it rains? And, the answer is quite simply "it doesn't matter". I think the Johannesburg Diner En Blanc attendees can testify to this last year, as they had serious thunderstorms! Luckily, our Dinner was blessed with the most beautiful (and last day) summer weather.
2. The location is to be at the heart of one of your city's most beautiful locations. Depending on the size of the event you may have to check with authorities that you can host a party in the public space. Fortunately, in our case the local lakeside encourages social gatherings, there was no charge for the space, toilet facilities, dustbins and parking were all nearby. The only catch was it "closed" at 22h00. So be sure to check all these details before you make a final decision.
3. The location is secret. So guests meet at a designated point and then are transported to the event space. We were luckily as public transport is nearby. You could organise private transport, or alternatively have the meeting point in walking distance from the secret location - but be mindful guests will be carrying all their picnic wares.
