queen of hearts and tarts
Let the guests decorate a cupcake to eat right away and
another to keep to take home with them. Place a cupcake on a cardboard circular
round at each place setting, so as to mimic a top hat. Set up and down the
centre of the table an array of sweets in miniature sugar bowls and teacups and
have the icing made and ready to go in icing bags. Let the guests have fun and
maybe a little competition for the best (and “most creative”) cupcake hat.
A novel way to serve cupcakes is do so as one would tea –
place the cupcakes directly in the teacup at each guest’s place setting.

GOOD LIFE TIP
Debbie from Cook Studio created “tiered” cupcakes by using
the three different sized cupcake liners and stacking the cupcakes one on top
of the other with icing in between to stick them together.
decorating cupcakes
Decorate cupcakes and tartlets with the printable party
cupcake liners and the printable party circles – naturally with the coined
phrase of “EAT ME”.
Supplies
Toppers page printed out
Cupcake wrapper printed out
5cm scalloped paper punch
Flat-ended toothpicks
Lustre dust
Fork
Directions
Print the cupcake toppers printables onto bright white
cardboard. Cut out cupcake wrapper and the circles with a 5cm scalloped paper
punch, available at craft stores. Tape the topper circle onto a flat-ended
toothpick or other stick of your choice. After your cupcakes are baked and iced
and berry tartlets are topped with whipped cream; sprinkle some fondant hearts
on top to make them “well-suited” to the party. Dip a fork into the bottle of
luster dust and gently distribute onto the tops. Add a cupcake topper and the
cupcake wrapper to finish it off.
GOOD TIP The printable party toppers are not just for
cupcakes, use to decorate other food items, punch holes for straw toppers,
print on sticker paper and use to decorate glass bottles, as envelope seals or
napkin rings.
